For some horrible impulsive reason, I decided to binge all of Twilight this past weekend.

What a saga.

But seeing that, and then diving into the actors’ Wikipedias, was one of my favorite things to do.

Robert Pattinson. Conan O’Brien. Jacob Elordi, Sandra Oh, Jesse Eisenberg, Steven Yeoh, Ayo Edebiri.

I love trying to gauge what their stories are through a list of movies they’ve been in, because it proves to me that we really are only as good as our next bat.

It’s the unfolding story of actors who were then in the Kissing Booth and Twilight and now end up in Frankenstein and The Batman. Actors who proved audiences wrong, tuned out their voices, did what they did for the love of the game, and were able to say fuck you to people in the past and create cultural pieces that will last.

That’s awesome.

All is to say, I want to be like that, for whatever I want to pursue. Whatever attachment I have to what I think people think of me should be discarded. Why should I not do the things I want to, when I want to, because of them? That’s silly.

Side note, I especially love Robert’s career. The indie films, the ones where he knew he was working on his toolkit and exploring new things and pushing himself. That’s cool.
